President Donald Trump means business after Iran fired a rocket that almost hit the United States embassy in Baghdad.
Trump sent a stern warning on Twitter
Tonight Trump appeared on Fox News and said Iran will not go nuclear but he is resistant to war.
“I will not let Iran have nuclear weapons,” he told Fox News host Steve Hilton in an interview on Sunday.
His comments reaffirmed the administration’s resolve in suppressing Iranian nuclear proliferation even as it faced provocations from the regime and threats to U.S. assets in the Middle East.
Trump, during the interview, continued opposing military intervention — something that separated him from others in the 2016 campaign — but indicated Iranian nuclear development would constitute an urgent exception.
“I don’t want to fight. But you do have situations like Iran, you can’t let them have nuclear weapons — you just can’t let that happen,” he said.
Last May Trump kept a campaign promise and pulled out of the Iranian Nuclear deal that Barack Obama got us into. It sent billions of dollars to Iran and allowed Iran to be on the brink of a nuclear breakout.
Trump called the deal
“A great embarrassment to me as a citizen and all citizens of the United States.”
“If Iran continues nuclear preparations it will have bigger problems than it has ever had before.”
Ever since this Iran has been very aggressive towards the current administration and tensions have been consistently raising.
