First Pensacola shooting victim is identified as Naval Ensign, 23, whose brother says ‘died a hero’ and ‘saved countless live’ by crawling to alert police after being shot multiple times

The first of the three victims from the brutal attack at an American Naval base has been identified. 23 year old Joshua Kaleb Lawson Watson.

according to Daily Mail

Ensign Joshua Kaleb Watson, 23, who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy this year, was among the victims slain on Friday by Mohammed al-Shamrani, a Saudi Arabian aviator being trained in the U.S.

In a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook, Watson’s brother wrote that he ‘saved countless lives today with his own.’ 

‘After being shot multiple times he made it outside and told the first response team where the shooter was and those details were invaluable. He died a hero,’ wrote brother Adam Watson. 

The assault, which is being investigated as terror-related, ended when a sheriff’s deputy killed the gunman.
