A Louisiana father was arrested on New Year’s Day for drunkenly holding a gun to his nine-year-old son’s head because the boy drank the last Dr Pepper in the house.
Chad Kinnaird, 39, was charged with violating a protective order and for child endangerment for the incident that happened on Saturday in West Monroe.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the family’s home and spoke with the boy while his mother was present.
The boy explained that his father became angry at him because he drank the last Dr. Pepper soda in their home.
The affidavit states that Kinnaird had been drinking alcohol and brought a loaded gun into the home.
