Jack Dorsey, founder/CEO of Square and Twitter, has vowed to donate a billion dollars, which he says represents 28% of his wealth, to tackling the Coronavirus epidemic.

He Tweeted about his decision, writing that the “needs are increasingly urgent”.

Jack will shares he owns in his Square payment app to fund the “Start Small” LLC to distribute the funds worldwide.

Once the Covid-19 pandemic has been dealt with, the money will go toward girls’ health and education and research into universal basic income.
