I applaud Kayne West’s newly found relationship with Jesus. We all need a relationship with Jesus.
I’m glad that Kayne is waking up a lost generation who had seemingly turned their backs on Jesus during the late 70’s and early 80’s. The once faithless are coming home. Also, I’m exceedling glad that he is opening up the eyes of many milleniels as to who Jesus is. For they were being deceived by a corrupt immoral culture.
But I must say, Jesus who is king, was cool way before Kayne thought he was cool. In fact, way before Kayne had his revelation and started singing about him, Jesus has been cool for over a thousand years.
Jesus was cool when his birth was foretold by the prophets in the Old Testaments. Jesus was cool when an angel appeared to a virgin Mary and told her she shall bring forth a son and his name would be called Jesus. (Matthew 1:21 KJV)
He was cool when he was found in the temple at the age of 12 talking to doctors and askng questions. He was cool when he fed 5,000 with five loaves of bread and two fish. He was cool when he delivered the Beatitudes on a mountain top storing blessings on many. He was cool when he gave sight to the blind man and rose Lazarus from the dead. He was cool when healed the lame and cast out demons from a possessed man. He was cool when he saved a woman about to be stoned and made another woman hold when she touched the hem of his garment. He was cool when he turned water into wine at a wedding in Cana. He was really cool when he calmed a raging sea to walk on water and said peace be still.
And then he did something that only Jesus could do and would only do. No man or woman could possibly duplicate it or imitate it. He didn’t do it for fame or fortune. He did it out of love. He decided to give his life for our sins, so that we may have eternal life.
He was crucified. He died upon the cross. But blessed be to God. He rose on the third day. Now that’s cool.
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)
Death could not hold him down. He got up!
After shaking off death’s grasp, he continued to dwell amongst the people for awhile. In the scriptures we are reminded that, “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11 KJV)
Until that time, Jesus left a comforter, “which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (Luke 14:26 KJV)
So you see Jesus was cool way back when. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrew 13:8 KJV).
It is a blessing that after all he has gone through, Kayne is coming into the acceptance of Jesus and bringing others.
For it is written, “As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” (Romans 14:11 KJV) Now that’s cool, and you know what Jesus is still King. That’s even cooler.
Can I get an Amen!
