Abortion for any reason has been covered by Medicaid in Illinois since the beginning of 2018, millions of Illinois tax dollars are being spent annually to kill babies.
This week, billboards went up in Peoria, Chicago, Champaign and other cities with the message
“Abortion is healthcare. It’s covered by Illinois Medicaid.”
Five billboards have been put up by the Chicago Abortion Fund across the state, including three in Chicago and one in Champaign, the other in Peoria.
Pro Life Protest
The Peoria billboard is already causing controversy. Ken Goins, president of Central Illinois Right to Life, was alerted to the campaign by a friend.
“Well, one thing: Abortion is definitely not health care,” said Goins. “It’s just a sad thing that neighboring states have to come over here, and that Illinois is known for its cooperation in regards to abortion. This is something we’re going to try to continue to fight.”
Goins said that if members of his community can legally stand on the property beneath the sign, they will likely do a protest there.
“I have a contact in Chicago, and they are doing that same thing,” he said.
