“Sorry Temporarily Closed” is the message seen in many cities and towns across America. Staring at us from windows, doors, coffee shops, and retail stores you can’t miss it.
While the signs read “Sorry Temporarily Closed” there is a deeper reality behind those words. Businesses and establishments that were once thriving pulses of communities haven’t just closed temporarily. These places have closed indefinitely and some even permanently. The small mom and pop stores that offered those special items that big box stores grew to big to carry have shuttered their doors for the last time.
Unfortunately, once busy streets filled with people moving about from place to place frequenting bustling businesses are no more. You can no longer run to the corner store for a miscellaneous item needed for a meal or some other extemporaneous need. Nowadays the only lines you will see are those stretched around your local big-box supermarket with six feet of separation distancing faceless individuals.
While Spring has sprung and Summer will be heating up, it’s anyone’s guess if and when we will able to enjoy either for all of these things that make up the fabric of our lives are closed temporarily or will be gone.
This has to STOP!
It’s time to open up America and replace “Sorry Temporarily Closed” with Officially opened For Business. It’s time to push fear aside and live.
Yes, we have to be careful and wear the face mask, but the notion of staying closed temporarily which is turning into permanent closure is killing who we are as Americans. Who are we hard-working Americans? We lived and survived other adversities and we will live through this pandemic.
OPEN UP AMERICA AND SET HER FREE! Allow her to become prosperous again.
