Welfare Leech Drops Receipt in Parking Lot : We have all heard about all the freebies that Barack Obama gave away. Free cell phones, free cash assistance, a raise of people on Food Stamps. Now a shopper has dropped his receipt in the parking lot of a Save A Lot in Kentucky and what people found was shocking.
Welfare Leech has SNAP balance of over 5K
$5583.42. For one person! Something is clearly not right with the way the system is set up. That is more money than most Americans have in their savings account.
This has been going on for years. In 2016 call 6 from Indianapolis reported
INDIANAPOLIS — Records show dozens of Hoosiers receiving government food assistance do not appear to need the benefits.
The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) transfers money to eligible households through an electronic debit card each month.
Call 6 investigates found 30 recipients with balances of $5,000 or more on their cards.
The highest balance the investigation from Call 6 encountered was over $17,000.00. It should be alarming to anyone looking at the records. A single person receives around $125.00 a month.
If the balance from the cards are not used within 365 days, the balance is expunged from the card.
“Federal rules allow households to carry unused benefits from one month to the next and spell out when unused benefits are expunged,” said Marni Lemons, FSSA spokesperson in an email to Call 6 Investigates. “If a purchase is not made with the card within 365 days, unused benefits are expunged from the account,” said FSSA spokesperson Marni Lemons.
One would have to ask themselves why these balances are being unused when there are so many others who use their funds right away, which according to the FFSA, is most SNAP beneficiaries. Many still frequent food pantries and food banks for supplemental food, since the money they are given doesn’t go very far, especially if you buy fruit or produce.
For fiscal year 2016 the average monthly SNAP benefit per person is $125.73, and the average montly benefit per household is $254.72.
One would think then, that people receiving these benefits, which are most certainly people with large numbers of children, are not in fact in need of the funds in the first place. They make no or little income, get unemployment or cash benefits from the government, but are not spending their money at the grocery stores to feed their families.
The Broader Scope of things : EIC
It is reported that illegals report children back home, say in Mexico, and collect the tax refunds and all benefits that go along with that, some do not even live here most of the year. They just collect their EIC and move on. The credits currently amount to $1,000 per child, and they are “refundable,” meaning that parents may receive refunds even when they do not owe any tax. In 2008, these claims had risen to 1,526,276 persons claiming $2.1 billion in refunds.
I am assuming they are selling the SNAP benefits for cash as well at some point, but of course, that is pure speculation.
This is just another example of our precious tax dollars being spent on illegals rather than American citizens.
Other examples we wrote about earlier this year :
New York Democrats have approved $27 million in tuition for illegal immigrants, instead of supporting a bill which would help family members of deceased veterans.
BLM’s Shaun King Uses $20 million of the Black Community’s money on Illegals
And of course, with the new Coronavirus pandemic, states are authorizing stimulus checks for illegals.
Of course, California is still asking the federal government for more aid.
